4C WIRELINE GAS FIELD SERVICES NEW DRILLING TECHNIQUE
Gas Field Services is leading the way in innovation and safety with the implementation of 4C Wireline Drilling Technique on our hands-free drilling rigs.
4C WIRELINE DRILLING
4C Core Drilling provides an intact core sample from a hole; it produces detailed information on the core and allows sampling and laboratory testing of the samples form the hole. The difference between 4C Wireline Coring and Conventional 4C Coring is how the core is retrieved from the borehole. When the core barrel is full, instead of the core barrel and drill rods being pulled from the hole as you would using the conventional method; the rods and outer core barrel remain in the hole and only the inner barrel is retrieved by lowering a cable with an overshot down the core rods. The overshot attaches to the top of the inner tube/barrel of the core barrel and then the assembly is winched to surface.
This particular combination excludes any manual handling tasks and reduces the amount of tripping time by 80%. We have successfully drilled over 20 4C holes using the 4C Wireline and have successfully reduced the number of shifts by 3 shifts per hole.
